Hi Kevin,
I am sure this is an unexpected email but I heard you had your own marketing firm working on different approaches to marketing. I like your thoughts in your "Death of Advertising", blog. I also agree the current marketing practices are outdated and will need to be modified in the near future. I think before the traditional marketing model is revamped there needs to be an analysis of how the traditional model is not cost effective. I believe it is not truly linked to the consumer's likes or dislikes. The internet is a tremendous tool to connect the consumer. I think the Television Advertising model is also the next to be revamped. I think the cable/satellite television programming source will eventually be an internet based consumer product. The model of selling commercials to the highest bidder according to viewership is more a of popularity contest than effective marketing. It would be ideal to be able to measure the marketing dollars wasted on Television advertising. This information would be invaluable to companies. Best of luck to you Kevin.
